Short Story
I keep telling
people that they have to be careful with translations. Some
folks are still thinking that any bilingual person can be a
translator or interpreter. Some are trusting web based
translators, which produce mechanical translations.
Anyway, this is a
true
story:
I just went to the website of a Theological Institution that
advertises Theology courses in English and Spanish, among which
there is one entitled: Institute in Taking Sin Seriously.
The title of the course is translated as: Instituto en pecar en
serio, which means: Institute of Sinning Seriously (or teachings
in serious sin).
